The Man Behind the Smoke
From the North Sea to the Portuguese Coasts: Chasing Fire from Lagos to Ericeira.
My journey with Kamado cooking started years ago in the Netherlands. I fell head over heels for the raw power, the precise control, and the unmatched flavor of cooking on premium ceramics—specifically the uncompromising quality of The Club. To me, a Kamado isn't just a barbecue; it’s a lifestyle of slow afternoons, cold beers, and incredible food shared with good company.
When I traded the rainy Dutch skies for the sun-drenched cliffs of Portugal, I spent my first year living in Lagos. In the heart of the Algarve, I fell in love with the endless summers and the outdoor lifestyle. But I also discovered a major pain point for the international expat community. While Portugal has a legendary grilling culture, finding premium heavy-weight ceramic grills, sourcing restaurant-grade charcoal, or getting expert technical service in English felt like an impossible mission.
Now based on the rugged Atlantic coast of Ericeira, strategically positioned to serve both the Greater Lisbon area and our roots in the South, I founded The Outdoor Club Portugal. We don't just shift boxes. We bring the full, hardcore Kamado experience straight to your villa or terrace. From white-glove assembly and English-spoken masterclasses to curating the finest local Portuguese ingredients— like slow-smoking Porco Preto or searing fresh Atlantic fish over screaming hot charcoal.
Whether you are building your dream outdoor kitchen in a villa in the Algarve or setting up a winter smoke session on a terrace in Cascais: welcome to the club. Let's fuel the fire together.
